The Carents Room on Pharmacy Bags

Caring for our ageing parents is something the majority of us are going to experience as we ourselves grow older. “Carents” are mid-life children providing care for elderly relatives in the community. “Carenting” describes the multitude of activities carents undertake as first aiders, homemakers, care coordinators, personal shoppers, chauffeurs, secretaries and financial or legal advisers
The Carents Room’s mission is to make carenting and ageing a happier, healthier and more engaged experience. Founded by Dr. Jackie Gray, a medical doctor with over 3 decades of expertise in general practice and public health medicine, to address the real challenges faced by those caring for elderly loved ones.
The Carents Room is an online portal offering expert guidance on supporting elderly parents. It has tips with what to expect, what to ask and where to go for advice and help. The information is available 24/7 and developed to NHS information standards.
To raise awareness for this essential resource, The Carents Room have undertaken a Pharmacy Bag campaign allowing them to reach carers who are high users of pharmacies. The branded Pharmacy Bags direct those collecting medications to the online hub and leaflets are available in stores with further information on what’s available.
In addition to the bags and leaflets, pharmacists themselves were supplied with branded note pads, pens and coasters to keep The Carents Room front of mind. Many pharmacists know their customers and their families by name and are well placed to recommend such resources.
The 2021 Census puts the number of unpaid carers in the UK at 5.7 million. So, if you are one of them, I would highly recommend you pay a visit to www.carents.co.uk
